welcome to our world!
In 2006 we entered the University of Auckland Science Competition.
The task that year was to design (on paper) a website for any science-related topic of our choosing.
There we are below talking one of the judges through each page of the theoretical www . solarsystemsecrets . com.
We really like that judge - he awarded us first place!!!!!

Earlier this year we had to pull our project apart and recycle the paper for other things - it was just taking up room, making a mess and getting dusty. We were disappointed, because we had enjoyed making it so much. Then we had one of our brainwaves! Why not go that final step and take it from a paper website to cyberspace?! So here it is! And now that we’ve got this far, we want to do more. We intend adding more hands-on activities and if we can interview some astronomers or add other interesting things, we will.
For us, astronomy was not an interest we picked up in order to enter a competition; we have always been interested in space. But it is true we have used this interest to good purpose in competitions! In fact we had used the very same topic a year earlier when you had to design a board game. There’s a picture of us below with our game called “Solar System Secrets Space Race“. And can you see us collecting our *Highly Commended* Prize?

This year (2007) we entered for the last time. “The Sky” still pulled us and we had to come up with another board game. Mama suggested we might like to tackle a different topic, but we had been doing so much weather recording over the previous year that we decided to turn those experiences into a game.

Different judge this time. But we like her just as much as the man above - she dished out the same result
